while looking through this catalogue, let me inform you about the firm BIRKI. This company is being traditional not only in the local area of the Jeseníky Mountains, but also in the world market. The poles for cross-country skiing, alpine skiing and hiking too are entitled BIRKI nowadays.

The idea to produce ski poles appeared in 1995 for the first time. Our main aim was to keep the tradition of the ski poles production and at the same time to continue its further development.

The founders‘ attitudes to skiing might be spotted in the choice of the firm name. It is based on an old saga about the Norwegian fighters Bierkebeiners. While undertaking the war campaign over the supremacy for their two years old king Haakon Haakonson they used to be considered the founders of skiing.
